You know, I suspect that the practice of extorting free shares from companies in return for not "bashing" them may be more widespread than is generally imagined.

I know of one promoter who's almost certainly done it, and been fairly public about it. He was originally hired to "profile" IFTA. When his contract wasn't renewed, he became cross, and began writing messages critical of the company at Raging Bull. There was plenty to be critical about: IFTA was and is a complete disaster. I even though he might have Seen the Light.

But no: after they did an enormous reverse split he was suddenly back on board, excusing himself by saying lamely that there wouldn't be any more dilution, even though they were diluting heavily as he wrote.

Another company gave him free shares for no reason at all.

I don't think he's the only one; people have sent me information about several similar operations, but I've never had the kind of proof I'd need to take it to the authorities.

But perhaps now they'll be watching more closely for this kind of thing.

lol, nobody ever offered ME any free shares.
