Congratulations, Neo. I know this is your son's day but I honestly remember these occasions as the parents' day. It's a giving up of the responsibility of being a day-to-day parent. Did I tell him/her everything I wanted to say? Did I spend enough time with him/her doing all those important yet seemingly unimportant daily practices? A college graduation is for the graduate...but a high school graduation is really the parents' day. If you haven't had your first big argument with your son yet, be prepared. It's a necessary part of your separation from each other.
Peace
Marie
