Bill: Very fine post. I would only add that in addition to CPQ's shift to "mass
customization", the move to enterprise computing will help expand overall margins in
the future and somewhat compensate for lower margins at the lower end.

As the #1 server mfger, CPQ has this advantage over Dell.

Finally, as companies buy more and more higher level Wintel computers, they will
demand more added value service which CPQ can provide.

Thus among PC mfgers, CPQ has the best model going forward. With computers at
every price point, CPQ is replicating Sloan's famous GM strategy, "A car (PC) for
every pocket and purpose."
