I went there (Kiev). Sure there is corruption. Most of the Ukrainian savings were stolen by crooks too. The folks there just invest their money in their children these days. If you visit this place you can read about the country xenophongi.org Ukraine got rid of all it's nukes by 1996. fas.org There are not just bad guys there. There is some real efforts at reform too. Here is a good English news site. thepost.kiev.ua The countries over there are still fairly under developed. Lots big open uninhabited areas. I loved the place.
