MSI Like me, I know you don't wish for your children and theirs the perpetual war Cheney envisions for us that holds us hostage to their agenda. You are absolutely correct in stating that American know-how and can-do spirit will prevail. To state unequivocally that we have to accept the status quo because nothing can change it is to deny a history of progress and ingenuity. The protections the govt has put in place since 9/11 aren't perfect, but we are safer now than before. Since 9/11, we've had some scares...the American scientist in some lab sending out the anthrax packets; pipe-bomb boy from Texas; yellow, green alerts, shut-downs of national monuments. There's still a possibility some dissident will strap on some explosives somewhere and blow himself up. But I think it's far less likely than another school shooting. Since Bush has become president, we've seen massive lay-offs, an economy downturn, disintegrating international relations, all of which are somehow Clinton's fault. This country has problems, but we've surmounted them in the past. We will again.
