Dan and Freeus,
Concerning paying for education consider foodstamps. They are means tested, theoretically only those who can't afford a proper diet get the help. But no one tells them which store or even what items of food they should buy. If food stamps worked like government indoctrination centers... er... schools, you wouldn't get foodstamps, you would get pork and beans even if you were muslim or jewish and if you don't like it... well... starve!!!
What we need is Education Stamps, then like Freeus suggests you would see schools of all sorts spring up everywhere. The affluent would have lower taxes and prices and choice, the poor would have lower prices and choice. And we would hear no more about "seperation of church and state", whether to say the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, Zero tolerance, sex ed, etc., etc. If a parent did or didn't want any of the above they would pick their school accordingly. If I wanted my child to attend a school where she was taught how to use guns and all the teachers were armed, so be it. Choice... what a concept. As Dan often says...
