It is no sweeter coming from your keyboard. It is crap. Clinton could have called it all off if he had admitted it all, and he would have gotten away with it, because he would have gotten sympathy. Instead, he forced things to continue, and made Starr have to prove that he had sex under the definitions agreed to by the parties to the suit. Clinton drove the whole thing, from first to last. Not only did he initiate the affair when the suit was going on, he signed the legislation that allowed for a broad inquiry into "pattern". When the tapes came to light, the White House defamed Monica by suggesting that she was a stalker and a fantasist, and Clinton was willing to let Betty Curry go bankrupt with legal fees rather than come clean. When it was beyond a doubt that he had stained the dress, he persisted in claiming that he had not perjured himself, thus forcing Starr to prove that he was materially lying. Finally, if you think that Susan McDougal went to jail for contempt because Starr was trying to suborn perjury, you are a moron. Clinton got away with Whitewater, and Starr was trying to break the through the cover- up by leveraging Monica. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out.......
