When the tapes came to light, the White House defamed Monica by suggesting that she was a stalker and a fantasist, and Clinton was willing to let Betty Curry go bankrupt with legal fees rather than come clean. When it was beyond a doubt that he had stained the dress, he persisted in claiming that he had not perjured himself, thus forcing Starr to prove that he was materially lying. Finally, if you think that Susan McDougal went to jail for contempt because Starr was trying to suborn perjury, you are a moron.
