Russia is not "p*ssed", as you put it, nor it denying it. Russia has a contract with Iran which we all hope it would break but it seems that Russia is honoring it.

RE being p*ssed, depends on who you talk to in Russia.

But without consistent policy on our part we don't have a chance of developing loyal friends anyway.

I have no problem with consistency. I just think its best to keep dirty laundry between allies out of the public eye as much as possible.

Just think, we absolved Arafat of involvement in terrorism? Since when Bush started to play the Pope in forgiving the sins?

Russia already felt back stubbed when after offering full support and land basis to US we went to Pakistan and announced that the part of bin Ladin's organization that is fighting against Russia are freedom fighters and the rest are terrorists.

So then where is the consistency?

Even if US would take it back how Putin can trust US if US is not following it's own policies with regards to the friends that is Israel.

We have to be consistent or otherwise we would look like a joke to our friends and enemies alike.

Bush gets all excited when he starts yelling word groupings like "war on terrorism" or "weapons of mass destruction", and then consistency and sometimes diplomacy go by the wayside.
