Maximum PC Dell Demension 8200 Review

From June's issue of Maximum PC:

Dell Demension 8200. Stealthy P4 Machine dispatches the competition with a quickness. "Kick Arse Product" award designation.

"If intel were looking for a hired gun to slay the AthlonXP masses, it may have just found it's most able mercenary in Dell's new Dimension 8200. This high-end system unsheaths the new 2.4GHz Pentium 4, which beats the previous P4 by 200 MHz and widens the gap between intel and AMD silicon........

But the real story here is performance. We were impressed when recent systems from Polywell and HP shimmied past the 200 mark in sysmark 2001, but the Dimension blew both away by posting 232, that's a new record, and finally puts the Pentium 4 in a clear lead over the AthlonXP in Sysmark2001. The Dimension also set a new lab record in our Quake III Arena test, besting the AMD-based Polywell system by 8fps......."

P.S. - I recall, I believe, (could be wrong, apologies), that it is Milo who routinely posts articles from Maximum PC. Sorry to "intrude", but I just had a feeling Milo wasn't going to post this one.
