I don't think India would initiate opening up the war on more than POK front. Remeber Kargil and the immense restraint ? Besides, the world opinion would turn swiftly....
And no, US cannot afford to aid Pakistan.......with Chinese missiles pointing at US, and the entire Arab world, including Yemen, Iran, Iraq and the gang, rooting for Pakistan, US can afford only to remain a neutral observer at best....unless of course it wants to be in bed with what it has called the 'axis of evil'.....
If history and climatic conditions are taken into consideration, the war would be in late august, early Sept, won't last for more than 10-15 days - neither side has resources for a prolonged struggle......ironically, the resources always come from superpowers....
All this imo of course...i could unknowingly be wearing biased blinkers...
