I don't see it that way...Nothing is easy but the truely gifted find a way.

Yes they do, but the point being made, is what timeframe will it take for the truly gifted to get up to speed. Certainly shorter than the non-gifted, but still..... not instantaneous.

I know from experience. I've trained a half dozen Recent College Graduate (RCG) Engineers, and one Engineer who came from another Functional Area. Regardless of their inherent brilliance (or lack thereof), I never felt comfortable just throwing them into the pool and expecting them to swim.

No matter how boyant you are, if you want to swim, you still have to learn the strokes. And that takes time.
