Pakistan hails ‘auspicious’ test-firing...

How sad & dismaying (like you yourself ) to see the word "Auspicious" used to describe what could lead to the deaths of many 1000's of his people ....but we are not afraid to die in the name of Allah !

Musharrif and his Islamic "scholars" are throwbacks to the medieval ages . The rhetoric is stilted , high-pitched, like little mice trying to roar at the ocean . The rose of Allah is wilting in the light of the 21rst century, stuck in a religious dogma that was always , from the first locked into the cradle of violence. But this god "Allah" was always most merciful....to dead ignorant incensed martyrs who believe their medieval God,
loves what they do.

Maybe you would like to join them James ? Musharriff should
take some time for reflection here , and listen and be attentive :
(and also his rose-petaled fundamentalist "scholars" )

But Bush urged Musharraf to keep his promise to crack down on Islamic militants staging cross-border attacks in Kashmir.

The disputed mountain region, held by India, but struggling for independence, is rife with violence, rich with beauty.

“We are deeply concerned about the rhetoric,” Bush said. “It’s very important for President Musharraf to do what he said he was going to do in his speech and that is to stop the incursions across the border. It’s important that India know that he is going to fulfill the promise.”
