You need to go through an amplifier. The sound card will not be able to drive home speakers. This part will need to be investigated. For a start, you need to look at the specs of the outputs of your soundcard. Once you get the correct amplifier setup in place, it should be doable with the correct connectors. Also if you have a spare equalizer, you may want to add that to the setup. Small multimedia speakers will not sound the same as full room sized speakers. And the sound cards probably are geared to sound really good on the multimedia type of speaker. So you may need to adjust the frequency composition of the sound in order for the result to sound good on the room speakers.
