It looks like the Bush administration is still short of a Middle East policy. I worry they will get one and it will be the wrong one.

John,
so what should the policy be?
what should be done to remove your worry?
what decisions would you lock in concrete right now?

i believe this administration's quick focus on changing the previous administration's priorities and wrenching us back to defending America from ME based attacks was and is a extremely important first step.

the ME remains an exceptionally fluid situation...plans can, are and should be made...but it will be folly to expect things to go according to plan...the plans will only provide good base lines for making quick changes and allow everyone to remain focused on the long term goals.

Bush's insistence on placing America's interests, and your safety, first and keeping them there is pissing many people off...but dammit, i am in favor of it.
