You talk about this "lying and scaring" being unacceptable. I'm curious about your take on the latest flurry of terror warnings emanating from the White House. Seems to me that Dubya and Dick are doing double duty on disingenuous demagoguery these days. Does it seem that way to you?

I'd sure hate to think that you have a double standard, bashing the Dems on one hand for pointing out that the GOP appears to doing some sneak attacks on the Social Security system, while you support the President's right to use the bully pulpit to lie about all kinds of imaginary bogeymen in order to deflect attention from probes into the mishandling of intelligence surrounding the 911 incident.

You do understand my concern about consistency versus hypocrisy, don't you Michael?

clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing them with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them
imaginary."
