Ok, now at least I have something to comment on. First of all, I believe Bush and Cheney are people of character, and wouldn't make up claims regarding terrorist threats. Second, I believe it's rather disingenuous of the left on the one hand to cry, "what did he know and when did he know it". Then practically in the same breath to now assert the President is "making up" claims regarding potential threats.

The left should make up their mind. Either they want to be given all the information in a timely manner. Or they want the administration to issue only threats which have the highest potential alert attached to them. This also highlights another fallacy of the left. They seem to be saying we "know" every real threat, and that it's a sort of exact science.

The fact is we live in an open and free society. One which lends itself to being vulnerable to crazed fanatics willing to die for their cause. We can minimize the potential threat, but realistically we shouldn't fool ourselves into believing we will be invincible to it one day.

Hundreds of thousands of vehicles cross our borders every day. Hundreds of cargo ships pull into our harbors every day. Hundreds of aircraft pull into our runways and off-load thousands of passengers every day. Tourists come and go by the millions. We can do what we can do. And we should exhaust every effort to minimize the threat without impinging on our civil liberties as much as possible. But, the threat will still be with us. And it's wrong of leftists to disingenuously imply otherwise.
