Muzosi, Re: "i don't think you have any idea what it takes for windows to boot, to load ie and open a page."

Do I know 100% of the details? No. But I am aware of a lot more than you think. Not sure what your career is, but mine puts me very close with this whole process. And I know that it takes a lot more to make a system completely reliable under heavy loads than it takes to boot Windows and run IE while having the system sit mostly in idle.

And another thing: at early stages of the post-silicon validation cycle, a viable workaround for bugs is to disable various performance enhancing sections of the chip in order to narrow down possible problem areas. I'd say it's hard to tell whether the Hammer demo wasn't running at 50% performance, just to get Windows to boot and sit idle for the duration of the demo.

I'm not saying that this is the way it is - just that demos can be deceiving. Don't be deluded to think that this means that Hammer is right around the corner.
