You are mistaken! In case you didn't know, there was a lot of tongue-in-cheek in what I wrote: I was humoring DSM for his pompous "pontifications". However, there is some truth in what I wrote and it is truth that is often bothersome to a lot of folks.
I am glad to note that you, of all people, are frank enough to admit that Israel is not perfect.
I also recognize that there is much truth in what marek_wojna wrote about Israel being given special treatment by the US. To be sure, the powerful Jewish lobby, media moguls, bankers and big business tycoons and others ("ineffable" groups) have been directly, or indirectly, responsible for the special treatment Israel enjoys.
By the way, Hillary Clinton said that "Israel is the canary in the mine shaft" for a special self-serving reason. She got elected into the Senate, didn't she?
