The voice differentiation between CDMA and GSM was not enough to do the trick in the past. However, data and capacity are major differentiators between CDMA and GSM which will come into play going forward. I think 2002/2003 will be interesting. The heavy voice users are likely to be heavy data users also. I am hoping to see a mass exodus of high end customers from Cingular, AWE, Voicestream and Nextel. VZ and PCS have the advantage but will they be able to capitalize on it is an open question. They both seem to be fired up.
