100cfm. Still think you are wrong. It has all to do with 1) quality of user experience and 2) cost of delivering alwals on megabytes

CDMA has it all on the cost of delivering bits (with network fully utilized). Further, with deversity antenna, The network capacity is scheduled to double again, further cutting the cost of delivering given amount of data.

User experience depends partly on data rate. Clearly, 156Kbps is adequate and CDMA2000 Rev A at 307Mbps is even better. Part two of the user experience is the 1X multimedia, GPS vivid color phone which is arriving starting in July. Part three of the user experience is the killer software apps which Brew and Java enabled Brew will provide.

Part 4 of user experience is easy input/output. It is still a problem to look at those little screens and to type on those little keyboards. There are partial solutions, but it is not obvious that the solutions are adequate. Hopefully, voice recognition, micro-vision, blue tooth and PDA's will provide answers to the I/O questions.

Clearly, if 1X generates a good user experience, then it is only a matter of reducing price to the point that customers exit Cingular, AT&T and Voice Stream because they are unable to offer an equivalent competatively priced service.
