John- you make some very valid points, the two I agree with most are re: voice recognition, surely if one can talk an email or website into a 1X phone rather then punching it out one key stroke at a time it will stimulate huge growth in the usage of the cell phone other than just for voice. The other point I couldn't agree more with and am waiting anxiously to see if VZ and Sprint get it right: Clearly, if 1X generates a good user experience, then it is only a matter of reducing price to the point that customers exit Cingular, AT&T and Voice Stream because they are unable to offer an equivalent competatively priced service. One concern I have is will the profit squeeze prevent them from lowering the price enough to hurt the competition?
