MSI, I don't know the answer to the terrorist problem. It presents a dilemma. Can we justify the total destruction of a nation, even if the majority of it's citizens are Anti-American, and ready to die in attacks against us? If not, how can these attacks be stopped?? One thing I feel confident about, is that the Bush administration had a better mind set on how to handle terrorism than a Gore administration would. First of all, Gore is so slow on the uptake, the entire Easter seaboard could have been destroyed before he made a single decision except to holler "DUCK!!!"
A strong stance must be taken, IMO, but how firm, decisive, or widespread is a moot point. It is a shame that our intelligence agencies have been so debilitated by American traitors, and infighting among themselves. Jack Anderson, who published the names of all CIA operatives in place during the cold war, causing all of them to me murdered, should have been tried, convicted, and executed, as a traitor to the nation. Sometime, the competition between the agencies began to increase to a ridiculous extent, until none of them are as efficient as the should be. They became groups of spooks trying to out spook the other two groups of spooks.
I do believe that, if one of your impoverished third-world countries wants to attack American soil, then they should be made to feel the pain as if they were a major power. An attack is an attack. Plain and simple. |
