For the record, American Barrick, arch enemy of the non-hedgers for years, co-conspirator (if you believe in that sort of thing) in central bank manipulation of gold, bought Homestake Mining. The history of Homestake is interesting as it was the oldest established gold mine in the USA. People who bought HM back before the '29 crash made in divdidends alone many more times what they paid for the stock in just a few years, not counting what they paid for the stock, the price of which also made them a tidy profit. ABX bought it presumably to try to save its ass in the coming short squeeze skyrocket in the price of aurum. JB
