Convicted bottom feeder and recovering price chaser that I am, there's a very strong genetic predisposition on my part to get out the old credit card, sell off the last of the Owlettes, and empty the cookie jar for a few of these low low prices.

But then I look at the <0.0?>/sh est earnings and the 4 billion market cap and I have to ask myself,... what exactly is the value of getting "Intel Outside"?

...And what exactly are they going to do with that pot of pennies they have accumulated? I assume they won't be buying "useless" old INTC fabs. But they will need fabs from some place to out commoditize INTC.

...And what exactly would keep Andy's EE's from spinning out even cheaper commodity "Hammers" under the mysterious cross licensing arrangement? One has to do something with these depreciating depots doesn't one?

As I recall, when IBM got too big for its Management Britches, it got out of the business. Well that's probably too harsh. ...Let's just say they found another "teat" on the Corporate Cow. <Hoo Hoo> But then that means that INTC has one less alternative to shoot for. <g>

I think they will wake up one day and realize that the Commodity Dragon has caught them by the short and curlies. They will have to be clubbed with a 2x4 first of course. But in the end they will come around to the "Hollings Solution" as the only way to make AMD "go away" and keep all those fabs working.
