Says who that Pakistan is an ally of the US? Why are all the Taliban and Al-Qaeda men being sheltered there. Musharraf with his ISI (the Pakistan CIA) can flush all of them out in a minute but he does not care to do so. Daniel Pearl murder, the grenade attack on US citizens at a Pakistani church, the killing of French citizens by blowing up their bus at a hotel are surely "a no brainer" to indicate that Pakistan is an ally, is it?

Wake up Thomas. Don't be taken for a ride. As it is the politics of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld is a "curve ball". Pakistan is a hotbed of international terrorism. All the terrorists have congregated there. The show bomber's shoe originated in Pakistan. During the Afghan advance of the US/Northern Alliance forces, the city of Kabul fell within 24 hours without much resistance after the Pakistani ISI (the Pakistan CIA) pulled the rug from under the Taliban's feet.

The international terrorists (Osama and men) are looking for a front to engage the US and its allies in a war. And Pakistan is their most likely front since what better way to threaten the world that the nuclear weaponry of Pakistan. better than acquiring and launching a nuclear bomb themselves, is it not better if they get Musharraf to do that for them? Wake up wil you?
