Excuse my butting in but there are American Bald Eagles available to view in California up in Alpine and Mono Counties on the Eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas.

One must look very very high up in the sky to spot them soaring almost out of sight; however, they do come down near lakes and streams to settle on the trees top branches watching for fish and other prey. One came down to watch me fly fishing in a meadow at a 7,500 ft. altitude one early morning. I guess I was too big and fat for him or my catch too small.
