Saw that story. US, Australia, and Canada are all past their gold production peaks (366/310/177mt, respectively) and have been dropping for years (now 350/281/160). The near term (rest of this decade) future of gold seems to be South America (Peru@140 and Argentina@31), Africa (Mali@43 and Tanzania@65) and possible CIS (stan's).
