Can Microsoft master sucess?

Here's an interesting article complete with a few good digs.

chicago.tribune.com

They called IBM Big Blue and watched as its mainframes utterly
dominated the ways that the world's businesses and governments kept
their records and did their work.
Growth fed more growth and success fed success for the mainframe
giant. Corporate computer executives coined the phrase ``nobody ever
got fired for buying IBM'' to describe why they stuck to Big Blue, no
matter what upstart competitors tried to sell them.
Today the successors to those Big Blue loyalist information technology
executives have rewritten the slogan.
Nobody ever got fired for buying Microsoft, they say.
But every time they say it about Microsoft, they remember that their
predecessors used to say it about IBM.
