Maybe they are just honest enough to realize that the
"stock-motivated" companies are basically a scam of
the Earth, and simply are not comfortable to work for
them? The motivation by stock price frequently dictates
bad short-term-oriented technical and other decisions,
and heavy stock hyping. By cashing the options out, you
sell an overhyped stock to unsuspicious sucker: this
is the name of a game. Period. You cannot exclude the
"Enron-style abuse", as you worded it, the "enronia"
is inherently built into the motivation.
