Cold Lake and Pelican Lake and the huge tar sands expansion. Canada has a lot of heavy oil ... and we've only started looking. There was a good Financial Post article regarding the shortage of upgrading capacity for this type of crude in the western region so even though there is plenty around there aren't enough users. One big question is how long will it take for someone to build a pipeline over the Rockies so that all of this heavy oil can be shipped to China and Japan.
