most dangerous nuclear confrontation since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis

I always thought North Korea/South Korea was a more likely scenario until now. Alot of sabre rattling rhetoric by both sides. Saving face will be important, but will take time. Both sides are like Iran/Iraq in their 1980s war, but with better weapons.

I am trying to think of what event would have to occur cause the other to launch a nuclear missile vs. staying with conventional forces. I keep on coming up with an assasination of the other's leader as the most probable trigger.

Perhaps the war will start with a shooting of a recon plane or a ship in the other's territory.
