All I'm saying is the "reasoning" for AMD to go to UMC at .13um and beyond.
300mm production and process development (90nm and beyond) require more
financial resources than AMD can "muster" ... BTW, very few companies can.
Is this a good thing ?? AMD will have to "live" with UMC development schedule,
device performance, and process bin split/yield. If UMC "slips" on their "commitments",
then this could "wipe out" AMD. Big risk, IMHO. However, there aren't many
good alternatives.
