I continue to be of the belief that Hammer will not live up to it's hype. You think AMD marketing types are going to admit that now? That's quite a clever statement Elmer as it does not define the reference scales of "hype". You can always point to it regardless of what the actual performance of Hammer is. I don't know what the "hype" is, but it'll have met my expectations if on the regular set of benchmarks run by Anandtech/Tom's/Aces it beats a palomino by at least 18-20% clock for clock on more than 80% of the benches, AND _starts_ near the top of the shipping frequencies of Tbred when it ships at the end of the year. I then expect "regular" scaling of frequence every Q from then on. At ship time, my expectation is that it should also beat (by any margin) the fastest available P4 (any core in its class) on at least 75% of the above "common" benches. TG
