I have had too many arguments over the bombing of Hiroshima to revisit the whole thing this afternoon. Suffice it to say that you are wrong, we dropped it to save lives. Even after the first bomb was dropped, the Japanese wouldn't surrender, and even after the second, the Emperor had to order the Cabinet to surrender. Furthermore, there were numerous mutinies in the Japanese armed forces, because of the unwillingness to accept the surrender, that had to be brutally put down. We do not have the means to militarize the world. Any significant coalition against us could put us in our place. It is a non- issue. No, you defame the President and the Administration, call those who support them blind and other such things, and imply that some supporters are fascists. I am not impressed with your standards. Certainly not with your standards of reasoning.......
