I was just channel-surfing and stumbled across a 10-15 minute segment about Affymetrix and the GeneChip array on a PBS show called Breakthrough. I missed the beginning of it, but it seemed to be a fairly good overview of the company and the product in layman's terms. Keep an eye out for it, PBS tends to recycle their programs.
