THE FBI: ROWLEY'S DIAGNOSIS AND MUELLER'S RX

My comments: I believe the FBI is acting now on anything and everything in order to try and make it seem like they are doing something about terrorists when they obviously were lax in their prevention efforts. They are now on a witch hunt. The timing of tony's case and the latest revelations that the FBI was told ahead of time that one of the terrorists would fly a plane into the WTC are almost too coincidental.

The article summary: Agent Rowley chastises FBI bosses for obstructing the investigation of Moussaoui, failing to share information and misleading the public about who knew what and when. She criticizes the bureau's culture for stifling bold decision making and rewarding naysaying careerists. "Although the last thing the FBI or the country needs now is a witch hunt," she writes, the bureau must "come clean."
Director Mueller said last week that the Justice Department will probe Rowley's complaints and acknowledged that his agency needs a "different approach" to fighting terrorism. Among his fixes: a new Office of Intelligence to better analyze clues from far-flung sources and a computer-system upgrade. But are his remedies enough to heal the dysfunctional organization Rowley describes?
