To all: I heard noises from a space-ship landing at my house last night! - -

Eerie sounds of a "space-ship landing" woke me up last night around midnight. My three dogs went ape-*hit. I instantly knew something was awfully wrong, because all three dogs took off in three different directions. They were obviously also disoriented and confused. The ship was apparently landing in the den next to the bedroom, but the sounds were conflicting. I'm not kidding.

Anyway, I instinctively grabbed my gun, not knowing exactly where to point it. My wife was on a trip to Oklahoma, so I was all alone with my dogs and the invaders.

Turns out that the TV, for some reason or another, had all-of-a-sudden come on full-blast, showing some space-ship movie. Here I was, in the middle of the night, half awake, pointing my gun at my TV! What a rude awakening!

A similar thing happen to me about 10 years ago when I was living near St. Louis. About 2 a.m. my TV all-of-a-sudden came on at full blast, along with the lights in the living room, and the garage door was going up and down with the garage light flashing off and on! Talk about being "spooked" upon being awakened from a deep sleep! Disoriented isn't the word for it!

After that episode, I called everyone I could think of who might have an explanation. The best thing I came up with was a story from the electric company about some transformer being blown out several miles away.

Maybe. I still don't know exactly what might have been happening. Has anyone else had any experiences such as this? Or does anyone have a more reasonable explanation?

I'm not a KOOK. This really did happen.
