I guess sleepy Americans don't realize many of us were working yesterday, and the declining POG and PDG's NR skewered most of the interlisted gold producers. Barrick was up 4% today on the TSX, where it's head office is located which is comparable to today's gains by Agnico Eagle, Goldcorp, Kinross. Beat Glamis handily.
As for Newmont, I don't see much difference between Newmont and Barrick over the last 5 years,...Newmont still has to catch up some, as it has underperformed for most of that period due to crappy American management that has now been replaced by Canadian talent.
I can't believe you continue to insist on following the daily movements of gold stocks, when daily, monthly and even yearly charts seldom prove much when comparing the operations of two companies. It tends only to confirm your short term outlook in investments, which is what causes things like the tech bubble. I guess you Americans haven't learned that lesson yet. Some of us have a timeframe that is more than a day or two.
If you don't want to trust Barrick's statements, then by extension you don't trust anyone's statements, so continued discussion is a waste of my time, as you have no proof of your assertions, but if you read the statements, you have proof of my assertions.
