Happens every year....they make a MESS in the front porch, just outside the main entrance ! But, its their home as much as this is mine, so i let them.......

community.webshots.com

The same bird.....lays eggs at least 3-4 times per season...been doing that for the last 4 years....

At least once a year the wind robs her of her home...and eggs...and my heart goes out to her...they're so...helpless...

Humans cannot touch the nest...the birds disown their young ones if they smell of humans....so its heart rendering to see a small baby bird fallen down from the nest and unable to go back up into it till mommy returns...I stand guard till she does....i dunno how she carries them back into the nest, but she often does ! She trusts me completely...i can water the hanging baskets around 2 inches below her nest...she just looks on mutely...dove eyed, but when my husband or kids come into the porch, she just flies off....!

Love for our young ones is such a powerful emotion - no ?

On the same note, I'm going to sign off from SI for the summer, my daughters summer holidays.....will log in once in a while though....I hope you have a great summer......

Keep in touch ! <smile>
