>>>A question for you. Would you rather free a murderer or send an innocent man to the death chamber? Which error of justice is worse to you?<<<

In my opinion, I believe 'tis better that 10 who are guilty go free than to imprison one innocent man. However, that doesn't mean that each shouldn't undergo judicial scrutiny if there's a clear evidence path which points in that direction.

In the Elgindy matter, whether liked or unliked, there is, right now, sufficient facts for the utmost scrutiny and this is a scrutiny which could become lost were he allowed to flee to Lebanon. From what I've read there are strong enough indications to show that he might have done just that, i.e., leave the country. But I don't know this, even this still has to be proven.

There's a lot we don't know. I, too, am a firm believer that an individual is innocent until proven guilty. It's sorta like a fair up and a fair down, eh?
