Jim, re: AMD buying UMC to ensure technology Besides the disparity between UMC and AMD market caps. There are two other major technology partners driving a common process with UMC and AMD {namely IBM and Infineon}. This development by partnership has major cost advantages. Unfortunately this type of cooking up a leading edge process via multiple cooks has serious questions on its ability to ship on time. (the good news is that IBM is really doing the bleeding edge work). regards, Kash
