Poor flapjack, still afraid to read news and information which doesn't fit your preconceived notion I see...

The AP version was laced with half-baked Demolib spin.

Here's a good one from the article. A totally biased opinion...
Several leading Democrats have questioned the wisdom of President Bush's tax cut and routinely differ with him on domestic matters such as spending, health care and the environment. They've recently started speaking out on handling of issues like foreign affairs and the war on terrorism.

When did they not speak out, or differ with him on domestic matters?

Here's another good spin line...
On the question of who they would prefer to see in control of Congress, Democrats led in the Northeast, while Republicans had the advantage in the South and Midwest. The West was extremely competitive.

hmmm, Democrats *led* while Republicans *have the advantage*. Nice Demolib spin. Are we too take from this spin line Democrats are leaders?

Why not phrase it more accurately this way?

Democrats led in the Northeast, while Republicans led in the South and Midwest. The West, which Democrat won decisively in the last election, is now up for grabs.
