HAWKEYE'S INTEREST TO INCREASE TO 50%
WITH DRILL PROGRAM ON DIAMONDS NORTH PROSPECT

Vancouver, BC - Hawkeye Gold International Inc. announces it will fund an initial $250,000 diamond drill program to test a series of kimberlite targets on the 63,000 acre Yankee diamond property on Victoria Island, Nunavut.
The expenditure will increase Hawkeye's current position in the joint venture with Diamonds North Resources Ltd. from 33 1/3% to 50%.

The plans for the program include ground geophysical surveys over eight anomalies and drill testing of the five best targets delineated. Mobilization of the camp and drill team is underway for an anticipated early June start-up.

In the recent reorganization of Commander Resources Ltd. its diamond properties were transferred to Diamonds North with Commander initially retaining a 9.5% equity position in the new diamond company.

Commander shares trade on the TSX Venture exchange under the symbol CMD. Hawkeye trades under the symbol HGO. Diamonds North has filed a preliminary prospectus and has received a first comment letter from the BC Securities Commission. An application for listing has been filed with the TSX Venture Exchange.
