Toll Brothers Earnings Up 19 Percent

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. (Reuters) - Luxury homebuilder Toll Brothers Inc. reported on Wednesday a 19 percent rise in fiscal second-quarter earnings, spurred by higher home prices and strong demand.

The Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania-based company posted earnings for the three months to April 30 of $52.5 million, or 69 cents per share, compared with $45.8 million, or 58 cents per share, a year ago.

Analysts' estimates ranged from 58 cents to 68 cents with a mean of 62 cents per share, according to research firm Thomson First Call.

Revenues rose 8.4 percent to $539.11 million from $497.55 million.

Toll Brothers shares closed at $30.27 on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, within reach of its year high of $31.80.
