I put AVG on my backup machine, a P2 450 on W98 and AVG seemed to work for three days and then it caused a glitch that stopped the boot process. I could not shut down AVG as I wasn't booted. After five force quits and a bunch of error messages and blue screens I finally got a completed boot. First thing I did was delete AVG. Once I did, booting operated normally. Could have been a clash with McAffee which was also on this machine. Didn't stick around to find out.

best

Rick
