Gold mining is the #1 ranked industry by IBD and also by VectorVest. HGMCY turned up as a #1 pick in several VectorVest "aggressive" strategy screens. It has an absolutely fantastic chart. For these reasons, I went long HGMCY yesterday at $18.58.

Currently HGMCY sits at $18.17 so I'm underwater after a day. That doesn't bother me at all because any minor price change in a day is simply 'static'.

My concern is whether gold (as a whole) is becoming a bubble, just a internet stocks did. Stocks are cyclic entities and do become overpriced. Is that where gold stocks are now?

I know from the postings I've read here that you (collectively) will argue that this is no bubble. So did the internet folks in early 2000.

For me, I'm just jumping on a long-term strong uptrend. As long as that trend remains intact, I'll be here. I expect to me here a while. Trends end, however. Bubbles burst.

At present, I'm optimistic, but I think there may be validity to long-term concerns.
