I think the deal is this: Once you've decided on a TA system of entries and exits, you've done half the work needed before trading. You then need to develop a money management system designed primarily to protect capital. Your decisions on when to sell should be based in part on your money management system, not just on TA-based signals. TA has its limitations, and it's easy to lose money without a money management system -- a system of rules for trading.
