I'm a big Bush supporter, but I was disappointed to read about the Florida lease deal. It clearly was a political move to benefit his brother, and the Administration's reasons for how it is different that ANWR weren't persuasive to me. I personally think drilling should take place in ANWR and in the Gulf - every barrel of oil collected domestically is one that we don't depend on from the mid-East.

Regarding the farm subsidies - I don't believe Bush "advocated" the increases - rather Congress stuffed them into the bill and he signed it. Farm subsidies are a divisive issue between the urban and rural states, but I think there was general bipartisan support for them in the agricultural states.
