OSI LIVES - CONNECTING THE DOTS: MURDOCK SPREADS PROPAGANDA VIA ITALIAN PRESS

flapjack,

I was intrigued to find the source of the so-called "news" item on a recording of a Yemeni sheik and a Milan mullah.

Here's one part of the U.S. coverage:

Recordings of 9/11 predictions turn up in Italy
Associated Press

MILAN, Italy - Recorded conversations between a sheik from Yemen and the leader of a Milan mosque reveal what police say are predictions of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, including a boast of a "terrifying" operation by "a madman," according to a newspaper report.

Excerpts of the conversations, which took place in 2000 and early 2001, ran in Tuesday's editions of Milan daily Corriere della Sera.

What's wrong with this story? Well, to begin with, the story was broken by the sensationalistic Milan daily Corriere della Sera.
corriere.it

Why does this matter? For one, it is apparently owned by Rupert Murdock.

For another, it appears to be an "organ" for the CIA's disinformation campaign. The one that is being carried on by Rendon & Assoc. and other hired liars. You remember them, right? The contractors that Don Rumsfeld never fired when he said he was closing the Office of Stategic Influence.

So, what we have here is another inspired case of lying to the public in the foreign press and having the disinformation picked up by U.S. news services, which seemingly don't care to do much investigative work on their own to verify facts.

This story is completely reminiscent of the discredited "potassium cyanide" scare that Corriere della Sera broke in late February:

PROPAGANDA, courtesy of your government via the foreign press. Nice trick, don't you think?
