We are on our own on this one, the politicos, as you rightly say, are completely opposed, as are their lobbyists and contibutors.
This is the one issue that will pit many if not all of the Beltway power elite in Washington against the people, and start to disclose the flow of cash into non-productive and counter-productive directions.
Ms. Fitts will follow the accountability, I hope, wherever it leads, regardless of who is in the spotlight. That's the only way it can work. The people are upset enough, or should be, to demand it, regardless of party affiliation.
Look, the three trillion dollars unaccounted for? That covers a multitude of administrations, no one is left unscathed or out of the loop. The buck stops with all of them, from the Pentagon bureacrats to the past 20 years' administrations, to all of Congress, just about.
I'm grateful to Ray for finding that, especially because it reiterates a solution to a national problem of 50 years' standing, that I know we now have the technology and motivation to resolve,for the first time in history, to organize and deliver to the public exactly what the hell their government is up to, and name names!
Pretty soon, you'll be able to dial up what contribution and costs occur in your neighborhood, and then do you think homeowners and neighbors will participate in meetings? I think so.
Someone said if the people want democracy badly enough, the government will have to get out of their way and let them have it.
Full accountability is inevitable.
